Transforming the Trent Valley landscape

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is working with partners and communities across the Trent Valley in Staffordshire. The Trent Valley covers a large area of Staffordshire and is shown on the map below. This map has been created by merging two landscapes because many organisations use the river as a focus and it is often divided across its full length from source to sea. The two landscapes that create this map are shown in blue within the wider county of Staffordshire. More information about the two landscapes is given below.

Transforming the Trent Valley landscape partnership scheme (TTTV)

Between 2019 and 2024, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust led a partnership of 19 organisations to deliver community, access, cultural heritage and habitat improvement projects. Funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and others, this scheme successfully completed a series of exciting transformative projects across the area. Extending beyond the county into Derbyshire, this landscape provides an important link to other partnerships established along the length of the River Trent.

Staffordshire Trent Valley CaBA (Catchment Based Approach)

Rivers across England and Wales have been divided into more than 100 catchments, each with a partnership following a Catchment Based Approach to maximise the natural value of our environment. Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is the lead for the Staffordshire Trent Valley.
