Last week I was able to visit the Trent Valley landscape, for the first time since lockdown and I wandered round the Washlands at Burton Upon Trent. While I walked I spotted the amazing Burton Swans that are currently on display for the next 10 weeks in different places around Burton Upon Trent. At the end of the 10 weeks they will have their final ‘Swan Song’ before being auctioned off for charity. Share your Swan-selfies on twitter using the #swanselfie hashtag.

Fun fact! Did you know that the word ‘Bevy’ is the collective noun for a group of Swans. An did you know that a group of Swans in flight is called a ‘wedge’?

They really are wonderful pieces to look out for. Here is just a few I saw…

I also caught a glimpse of some swan cygnets resting in the shade beside the River Trent. I am not surprised, it was a very hot day! To round off my visit I ended up driving past the eye-catching swan sculpture in Stapenhill. This all reminded me that I made a pom-pom Swan earlier this year and I thought I would share it with you. I even managed to get it to glide gracefully across some water, just like the real Swans on the river!
